NATIONAL PREMIERE

In You Are Not an Island, a body embraces the possibility of slipping into certain cracks and peering inside them. On a floor flooded with matchsticks, traces of the invisible and possibilities for rewriting gather together: unresolved movements that persist towards uncertain landscapes. The work evokes a series of unfulfilled potentials that haunt the present, challenging the visible as the dominant order. The phantasmal, the secret and the opaque orchestrate ambiguous suspensions: where are the cracks when there are no walls? How does an ‘elsewhere’ penetrate? By cracking the substance of thresholds, in fact, a destiny rather than a metaphor is invoked: from here burns the desire to glimpse other forms of light.

A dance around an imaginary fire, an exceedingly ambiguous score for matches, a desire that changes its own form.
