Monumentum stands for: memory, document, sign of recognition, something from the past.

Something that pauses and stops the continuous progression of the production flow, moving into the depths of memory, in a kind of temporal anachronism.

Crossed by oneiric visions and non-verbal bodily experiences, such as the practices of guided hypnosis, this first part of the project has a temporal progression enclosed in the performance of a solo danced by Megumi Eda, former historical dancer of Karole Armitage and interpreter of sharp and neo-classical expressive aspects.

A body therefore in a vital rush, in an attempt to transform its language into a world of journeys and zigzag paths, where subjectivity and history mix.

There is always a certain delicacy in facing the solitude of a body, in spite of the quantitative solidification it is possible to understand that matter is not stupid, nor blind, nor mechanical, but that it has a rhythm, a language, an internal movement and its own organisation: a feeling.

The Monumentum project began in 2022 and has already seen the creation of Monumentum the second sleep/second part the quartet, a creation for ensemble and the winning project of the Abitante call supported by the Centro Nazionale di produzione della Danza Virgilio Sieni and the Fondazione CR di Firenze.

In 2023 the creation of the first study of Monumentum DA with the sordx performer bilingual in Italian and LIS Diana Anselmo.
