INVISIBLE PIECE
Cristina Kristal Rizzo
Contemplation piece, involving piece, dead piece
Choreographic project based on La Morte del Cigno danced by Anna Pavlova in 1924 (repertoire 2012)
While the audience is confronted with Pavlova’s original vision, the choreographer/interpreter at the centre of the stage, through a simultaneous translation of the ancient version, updates a gestural loop, an infinite and precarious expressive landscape; all the movements and expressions of the ‘bodies’ suddenly betray the initial score to become ambiguous and out of control, as if to highlight the fragility of the different interpretative planes, in the hazard and desire to shift the boundaries of the expressive proprium.
INVISIBLE PIECE is a choreography of hallucination and prophecy that, in its weaving and reconstituting live the primary relationship between absent image and present movement, gathers and amplifies the pure choreographic gesture, involving in a sort of game of staggered doubles the very gaze of the audience.
