In Nulla dies sine linea, whipcracking (the acrobatic snap of a whip) becomes a sonic and symbolic gesture through which to explore the feminine. The whip, an instrument historically laden with imagery of power, control and violence, is re-appropriated by a female body that shifts its meaning: the gesture does not dominate, but listens; it does not impose, but measures. A composition for body, whip and voice in which movement arises from an exploration of sound as choreographic material. Each crack marks the space, generates rhythm, and creates pauses and silences. The body responds to these sonic traces with a dance characterised by precision and fragility, alternating between tension and surrender. Sound does not merely accompany the action: it guides it, interrupts it, and throws it into crisis. The feminine emerges as an embodied, complex and unresolved practice. Through repetition, exertion and risk, the solo performance constructs an intimate landscape in which the body becomes both a source and a sounding board. The stage is thus transformed into a space of radical listening, where gesture and sound mutually reshape one another, opening up a space of possibility and transformation.
