*Appunti per il sole* is the new movement-based performance, created by Daniele Albanese, produced by Fuorimargine – Centre for Dance and Performing Arts.
The artistic project, featuring dancers Fabio Pronestì and Diego Spiga and music by Simon Balestrazzi, draws inspiration from the sun – a symbol of strength and energy, but also of the eternal return of the identical, a silent and ultimate measure of time, locked within a cycle. Irreducible. Immersed in an ever-renewed recursion, the bodies trace forms that never take concrete shape, movements that delineate the transition between motion and energy, in an exponential crescendo of layers of intensity, repetition, accumulation and variation. Between darkness and rays of light, the dance takes shape in a delicate composition, maintaining a register that remains suspended and elusive.
The soundscape arises from the application of the concept of solar vibration/pulsation to the acoustic material, in a dynamic of continuous growth and expansion, capable of maintaining a firm connection with the dancers’ bodies, borrowing and amplifying their rhythms and off-beats.
The musical structure is therefore dizzying, consisting of cycles of speed and intensity that grow progressively, interspersed with moments of sudden suspension. Gradually, each rhythmic section opens up new bodily imaginaries, with a groove inspired by the realm of techno yet remaining distinct from established forms. The massive, enveloping sound creates an electronic and synthetic soundscape – rigorous yet with permeable boundaries – punctuated by jarring and unpredictable elements, offering a different way of experiencing percussive spaces.
*Appunti per il sole*operates on a sensory level, seeking to restore the relationship between the observer and the performer to a primordial state, opening the way to a simple redefinition of what dance is.
