The work, explores the simultaneous construction of a musical score and choreography that arises from the breath and is traced in space through words|hands: containers of sensitivity that are expressed in gestures of body and sound.
These hand verses – like the name of the work, emerged from the dialogue between artistic research and the particular expressive inspirations of Laura: ‘Hand verses is really my verse, hands with fingers that speak. My gesture is born, each figure has its own verse, like language: for example when I use the word and sound to speak. I call Laura, or I become a flower…My hair is tied with her voice. I like how the sound binds one to the other. The sound is similar. We are similar. Sound is a key to beauty, that opens a door.’
I versi delle mani, was born from the meeting of Marta Bellu, with musician Agnese Banti and the dancer with Down syndrome Laura Lucioli.
