The 23rd edition of the Autunno Danza festival pursues the ambition – undisciplined and native – to restore centrality to the body and its narratives.
The body is the place we inhabit when we inhabit spaces. Subject, instrument, threshold and horizon, it is from it – hence from the human – that the myriad trajectories of the signs of gesture depart and branch out in an indefinite multiplicity of directives. From the choral movements of a male quartet to the jumble of energy of a female soloist; signs that transit and create arabesques, swirls and vertigoes of meaning.

On the bill are national premieres, young promises of the Italian scene living side by side with authors of international renown; choreographers who have left their mark on the history of dance, but also works for children. In dialogue with contemporary music, visual arts and theatre, the Autunno Danza programme is spread over two venues for eight weeks, offering four workshops. Reaffirming the authoritativeness of the body means celebrating its political value and subversive power, in the liberation processes of everyday life and art.
