SWEAT BABY SWEAT is a show about love. Jan Martens creates a slow duet in which a man and a woman combine acrobatic strength and mental vulnerability: a look at love, beyond clichés. In a provocatively slow dance, based on different movement languages such as butoh, yoga, circus acrobatics and rock ‘n’ roll dance, two people hold on to each other. They neither want to nor can they let go; after all, two is better than one. There is no absolute meaning, but a recognisability that gives the audience enough space to tie their own feelings, hopes and stories to what is unfolding before their eyes.
