A single figure traverses the space, presents itself with an open gaze composing a choreography of gestures and poses and instantaneous dances, a romanticism of the beginning. Presence is all about being in the sentimental, as a quality of sharing and freely seeking the multiple tensions between private and public, accessible and forbidden, hope and despair, extinction and survival, the abolition of boundaries and the practice of imagination. SENTIMENTALSTUDIO is a first note for the new creation freely inspired by Derek Jarman’s The Garden (1986/1994) and William Blake’s The Marriage of Heaven and Hell (1790/93).
