The video document produced by Studio Azzurro narrates Désert / a ritual for in transition landscape, a project curated by DOM- with the support of the Fondazione di Sardegna within the project AR/S – Arte Condivisa in co-production with the Fondazione Sardegna Film Commission and Sardegna Teatro.

The performance analyses the forms of the great migrations of the nomadic peoples of the desert. Great caravans of men, women and animals on foot crossing desolate moors to find habitable spaces to dwell temporarily. Walking in a group, walking in single file, stopping, building an encampment, lighting a fire, cooking together, washing each other, singing, starting off again, falling, scanning the horizon for direction, carrying one’s home, objects, the necessities of life, standing still, looking away, smoking.
These actions become the field of study, the layers of the choreographic experience. The audience is invited to assume a distant perspective, a contemplative gaze that cuts out and bears witness to the passage and approach of this people.
