In this performance the performers travel through intimate, science fiction and distorted galaxies to talk about what is so difficult to explain.
They create a utopian dimension in which chronic illness is no longer an invisible shadow but a tangible creature.
By immersing themselves in Spooooonieland, a horizontal surface reminiscent of a damaged epidermis, their bodies can finally transform themselves into their hidden conditions: they are antibodies rebelling against the ‘healthy body at all costs’, they become larvae-lovers that melt into chronic fatigue and pain, playing guardian to each other in search of cure and pleasure.
The research echoes several disability studies theories: Christine Miserandino’s Spoon Theory, the concept of cryptime and the performers’ personal experiences.
